Origin and Production of maNASA Dimbula Silver Tips Ceylon Tea
Origin and Production of maNASA Dimbula Silver Tips Ceylon Tea
The Dimbula region, situated in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, is one of the oldest tea-growing areas in the country. The region's unique climate, with its cool temperatures and high altitude, provides the perfect conditions for producing high-quality tea. The misty mornings, ample rainfall, and rich soil contribute to the unique characteristics of the tea grown here.
Silver Tips is a type of white tea made from the youngest tea buds. The production process is meticulous and labor-intensive, involving careful handpicking of the unopened buds. These buds are then withered and dried with minimal processing, which helps preserve their natural flavors and nutrients. The tea is known as "Silver Tips" due to the fine, silvery hairs that cover the young buds, giving them a distinctive appearance.
maNASA Dimbula Silver Tips Ceylon Tea exemplifies the art of fine tea production. Its origins in the lush Dimbula region, combined with the careful handpicking and minimal processing of the youngest tea buds, result in a tea that is both elegant and healthful. Whether you are a seasoned tea connoisseur or new to the world of white teas, Silver Tips offers a unique and refreshing experience worth exploring.
How to make maNASA Silver Tips Tea
How to make maNASA Silver Tips Tea
Always use only fresh filtered water or spring water. Fine water makes a finer cup of tea and you will taste the difference.
Never reuse previously boiled water. Always use fresh water. This ensures brewing a finer cup of tea.
STEP 1: Boil water and cool down to 75-80°C (167°F to 176°F)
Using boiling water can scorch the delicate leaves, resulting in a bitter taste.
STEP 2: Add the hot water to the teapot, rinse carefully, and discard this water. This process helps to bring up the heat of the teapot and enhance the tea's flavor
STEP 3: Add 1 teaspoon to the warmed teapot.
STEP 4: Add the boiled water to the teapot - 1 cup of water per 1 tsp of loose white tea leaves.
A steeping time of around 3-5 minutes is recommended, allowing the buds to release their subtle flavors fully.
* Never over-brew your tea. It will produce a bitter cup of tea.
