How to make The Golden Reserve Extra Special - maNASA New Vithanakanda FBOPF Tea

Always use only fresh filtered water or spring water. Fine water makes a finer cup of tea and you will taste the difference.

Never reuse previously boiled water. Always use fresh water. This ensures brewing a finer cup of tea.

  • The bag contains 100gms or 3.5 oz of loose tea leaves
  • Makes 50 cups with 2gms (approx. 1 teaspoon) of tea per cup (8oz or 250 ml of water)
  • Steep one teaspoon of loose tea leaves in a cup for 3-5 minutes with 95-100°C water. (203°F to 212°F)

STEP 1: Boil water.

STEP 2: Add boiling water to the teapot, rinse carefully, and discard this water. This process helps to bring up the heat of the teapot and enhance the tea's flavor

STEP 3: Add 2 grams or 1 teaspoon to the warmed teapot and add 1 extra teaspoon for the teapot. The extra teaspoon of tea is optional. It helps to make a stronger cup of tea.

STEP 4: Add the boiled water to the teapot - 1 cup of water per 2 grams or 1 tsp of loose tea leaves.

Cover the teapot with its lid and let it brew for 3-5 minutes depending on the strength you like.

* Never over-brew your tea. It will produce a bitter cup of tea.

If you prefer a stronger cup of tea, add more tea leaves.

  • If you prefer a stronger cup of tea, add more tea leaves.
  • You may drink as is or add a touch of milk of your choice and sweeten as you like.

Tour New Vithanakanda Tea Estate

Let's tour the New Vithanakanda Tea Factory

Tea from the Sabaragamuwa Region in Sri Lanka

Tea from the Sabaragamuwa region in Sri Lanka holds a special place in the hearts of tea connoisseurs worldwide. Situated in the heart of the island nation, Sabaragamuwa is renowned for its lush landscapes, ideal climate, and rich biodiversity – factors that contribute to the exceptional quality of its tea.

Nestled among rolling hills and verdant valleys, tea estates dot the picturesque terrain, cultivating some of the finest tea varieties in the world. The region's elevation, ranging from 500 to 1,500 meters above sea level, creates optimal conditions for tea cultivation, with cool temperatures and ample rainfall nurturing the tea bushes year-round.

One of the distinguishing features of tea from Sabaragamuwa is its unique flavor profile. Characterized by a harmonious balance of strength and subtlety, Sabaragamuwa teas boast a rich, full-bodied taste with delicate floral notes and a hint of sweetness. This distinctive flavor is attributed to the region's terroir – the combination of soil composition, climate, and altitude that influences the character of the tea leaves.

Tea production in Sabaragamuwa follows time-honored traditions, with skilled tea pickers carefully handpicking the youngest, tenderest leaves to ensure optimal flavor and quality. These leaves undergo meticulous processing, including withering, rolling, oxidation, and firing, to preserve their natural essence and enhance their flavor profile.

Sabaragamuwa teas are versatile and can be enjoyed in various forms, from robust black teas to delicate green teas and fragrant white teas. Whether enjoyed as a comforting cuppa in the morning or as a soothing beverage to unwind in the evening, Sabaragamuwa tea captivates the senses and leaves a lasting impression on tea enthusiasts around the globe.

Beyond its exquisite taste, tea from the Sabaragamuwa region embodies a rich cultural heritage and a deep connection to the land. For generations, tea has been a cornerstone of Sri Lankan identity, serving as a symbol of hospitality, tradition, and unity. Today, Sabaragamuwa teas continue to uphold this legacy, offering tea lovers a glimpse into the time-honored artistry and natural beauty of Sri Lanka's tea country.

What makes maNASA Golden Reserve New Vithanakanda Extra Special Tea different from other tea found online?

The difference in this batch of maNASA New Vithanakanda Extra Special tea is in the taste of its 100% pure (unblended) single-origin tea, hand-crafted explicitly for maNASA and formulated by a professional Tea Taster, Luvinda Delwita, a renowned Tea Taster from Sri Lanka with more than 25 years of experience in the Ceylon Tea industry.

You may have found many vendors selling similar tea. Unfortunately, what some sellers may not disclose is the purity of the tea. To make a lower-priced New Vithanakanda tea, it is "blended" with a bit of New Vithanakanda and another lower-grade tea to enable selling at a lower price. This is where "You get what you pay for" truly applies.

Allergen Summary

Although this tea does not contain nuts, we cannot guarantee that it has not come into contact with traces of nuts during its production at its Tea factory.
